Members and groups can provide help and hope to families and friends of alcoholics in their communities by using the Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism (AFA) magazines as a public outreach tool.
Members’ experiences explain the benefits of our program:
- I Know That I Am Not Alone, by Ben D., WA
- I Felt Welcomed, by Bev, OH
- The Safest Place I Have Found, by Leslie E., VT
Besides personal stories, the AFA magazine has articles by professionals and essential information about our program.
Mailing AFA magazines to local offices of professionals and facilities during this critical time helps professionals to have Al-Anon information readily available for their client referrals. Carrying our message of hope helps members to grow in their recovery and motivates potential newcomers to find out more about Al-Anon
Just because there is a pandemic doesn’t mean alcoholism is going to take a time out. So, I mailed ten copies of Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism to the urgent care facility near my home so that Al-Anon information is there for families of alcoholics.
