Duties
To approve the minutes and actions of the Finance Committee and accept the monthly, unaudited Financial Statement
To approve special projects for the Board and Staff that involve day‑to‑day operations
To receive monthly updates on WSO activities and Strategic Plan Updates from Staff Directors and teams
To review additions, updates, and corrections to policies and procedures for the Employee Policies and Procedures Manual of AFG, Inc.
To approve Committee guidelines
To approve résumés for At‑Large Committee members and certain thought and task force members
To review presentations and handouts for the World Service Conference
Role Description
Concept Eight states: “The Board of Trustees delegates full authority for routine management of Al‑Anon Headquarters to its executive committees.” At‑Large members of the Executive Committee contribute their professional and Al‑Anon service experience to overseeing the business of Al‑Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. (AFG, Inc.) and supporting the WSO Staff who actively carry on Al‑Anon world services.
Qualifications
Must have ten years of continuous Al‑Anon and/or Alateen membership (Alateen membership does count!)
Must relinquish all Al‑Anon service positions beyond the group level during term of service
Must possess a broad view of the policies of Al‑Anon Family Groups
Cannot be an Al‑Anon member who is a member of A.A.
Must be eligible to become an Al‑Anon Member Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS)
Executive Committee Meeting Schedule
Each summer, the WSO prepares a schedule of Board of Trustee, World Service Conference, Executive Committee, and Finance Committee meetings for the next term to support the WSO Volunteers and applicants in understanding in‑person and virtual meeting commitments.
