Outreach to the Public/Media
Newspapers, television, radio, and the World Wide Web are all means of carrying the Al-Anon/Alateen message to families and friends of alcoholics. Through public service announcements (PSAs), news releases, and Web sites, Al-Anon and Alateen members can inform the media and general public about who we are, what we do, and how to reach us. Poster campaigns, fliers on public bulletin boards, placing books in libraries, and participating in community events are other opportunities for Public Outreach service.
Listed here are some of the service tools available for your use. Please note that some tools listed are available on-line; others can be ordered from your local Literature Distribution Center (LDC) or the World Service Office (WSO).
On this page, you will find public service announcements (PSAs), news releases, interviews, videos, podcasts, Al-Anon’s history, and survey results.
This manual offers how-to-do-it suggestions for using a variety of ways to reach more families and friends of alcoholics and the professionals who treat them.
