Our priority at the World Service Office (WSO) Archives is safeguarding Al-Anon’s physical artifacts and documents while making sure they remain accessible for use. A substantial portion of our physical collection has been integrated into our digital archival repository, which resides safely in the cloud. This allows us to access historical information and data without risking physical deterioration of items. Digital copies of documents and images can be easily printed and used in lieu of original materials.

The WSO is committed to preserving and maintaining Al-Anon’s history for generations to come. In 2023, recent donations of physical items and audio recordings from around the world were added to our digital collection. At present, our digital collection contains over 100,000 documents, and that number is steadily increasing. Preserving the rich history of our fellowship is a big job!

There are a number of archival materials that members can access directly from the al-anon.org website, including historical films, audio recordings, timelines, and more. If you have an Archives-related research request, kindly complete our AR-9 form.
