As we announced earlier this year, the World Service Office (WSO) began a thoughtful process in March of selecting the new Director of Programs. We were very fortunate to have received many qualified Al-Anon member applications and offer our thanks to all who applied for their willingness to serve. Staff conducted an extensive interview process and are thrilled and delighted to announce that Sarah S., from Missouri, has accepted our offer to serve in this important leadership position at the WSO.

Sarah originally joined the program as an Alateen member and began her service journey at the WSO level as a member of the WSO Alateen Advisory Committee. She has since served as a District Representative, Area Delegate Panel 57, and Area Chairperson. She is well-respected in her Area as a leader and a member with deep knowledge of and experience with utilizing Al‑Anon principles in supporting the fellowship. In her professional career, Sarah has more than 15 years of experience in Operations Management and demonstrated throughout the interview process her leadership and team-building skills. Her enthusiasm and spiritual grounding in the program will serve Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. well as we continue to evolve.

Sarah begins her role as Director of Programs on September 7th, 2021. Please join us in congratulating Sarah on her new role by leaving a note in the comments section below.

Marsha W., the current Director of Programs, will continue her outstanding service to the fellowship through the April 2022 World Service Conference, providing transition support to Sarah and undertaking other special projects.
