Then I thought of the simple idea behind the slogan “Let It Begin with Me.” I realized that if my life was going to change, it was up to me to change it. It had to begin with me. Al‑Anon has given me so many gifts, and I am grateful to all the people who have helped me on my journey. Thanks to a more mature way of thinking, “Let It Begin with Me” takes on a different meaning. It now means I can share my program and recovery with others. Sharing a kind word and a gentle hand is truly letting it begin with me.
