Al‑Anon saved my life. It returned me to sanity, stabilized my life, and gave me serenity. Al‑Anon helped me to forgive myself. It helped me redefine my relationship with my Higher Power, whom I call God, and brought me into spiritual maturity. Al‑Anon gave me an entirely new family of fellow “believers” and friends. And it opened my eyes to my character defects.
None of this would have been possible without help from a Higher Power; Al‑Anon literature; a faithful and experienced Sponsor; and all the experience, strength, and hope of other Al‑Anon members in the meeting rooms.
I am proof positive that the Al‑Anon Twelve Step program works! My first experience told me to “Keep Coming Back,” and I did. I am now the person I was created to be. After three years in the program, I have learned to stay in the moment with my Higher Power, accept his will and his plan at that moment, and live with an attitude of gratitude. Thank you, Al‑Anon!
