“Do you have these meetings in Rapid City that I can go to? I mainly want to know how to support, what to do in the event of a relapse. This is something that I am going through right now, so I am anxious to try and get some support and help. I have no one that I can talk to about this.”
– An anonymous message received on Facebook Messenger
This newcomer learned about the support available to her on the Al-Anon WSO Facebook page. Like millions of other people, she struggles with how to help her loved one achieve and maintain sobriety. During September, recovery from substance addiction is celebrated in the U.S. and Canada. It’s an opportunity for Al-Anon members to increase awareness that the families and friends of alcoholics also need recovery by carrying Al-Anon’s message of hope and help on social media.

I love Al Anon and my Al Anon Family! When I have had a hard time with accepting a higher power, I just imagine my group conscience as my higher power…very helpful!
