On page 117 in the “Digest of Al‑Anon and Alateen Policies” section of the 2022-2025 Al‑Anon/Alateen Service Manual (P-24/27) v3, it states, “Permission to reprint extensively from our publications is not granted in the United States and Canada to any individuals, within or outside of our membership or to any outside agency.”
The World Service Office (WSO) recognizes that members may be enthusiastic about sharing the Al‑Anon message through excerpts or quotes from Conference Approved Literature (CAL). But when it comes to reprinting CAL, we must follow the policy found on page 117 in the Service Manual. It further states, “Each request received at the WSO to reprint limited excerpts will be evaluated on its merits and the circumstances.”
What is a limited excerpt in reference to CAL? Limited excerpts are typically a couple of sentences to a paragraph in length. Permission to reprint is limited to protect Al-Anon copyrighted material. Go to Request Permission to Reprint for more information.
