Did you know that the World Service Office (WSO) is trilingual in English, French, and Spanish? The Translation team is dedicated to translating WSO’s French and Spanish projects from first draft to final publication with the warmth and gentleness for which Al‑Anon is known.

The WSO provides translations of publications, such as books; pamphlets; the magazines The Forum, Le lien, En acción, and Al‑Anon Faces Alcoholism; the newsletters In The Loop, Le Messager, and En Contacto; the Chairperson of the Board Letter; and the Al‑Anon website and social media pages. The in‑house French and Spanish translators are assisted by six freelance translators. Together, this team is able to meet the needs of the regularly occurring projects listed above as well as new projects that arise. For example, in 2023, the team completed translations of the 2022 Annual Report, the Longitudinal Study, and 2023 International Convention materials. These translation projects share the common goal of providing global, barrier‑free access to tools for recovery from the family disease of alcoholism.
