October signifies the end of another harvest. As the season changes, Canadians gather with friends and family to give thanks. This is a wonderful time to be reminded of the gifts we have received in Al-Anon.Ā Share the gifts of the program for which you are most thankful in the Comment section below.

Iām Thankful for Al-Anon for giving me the strength and courage to love and find myself ššš»
My work in the Al-Anon Program has taught me how to exercise my God-given ability to think for myself without having my thoughts be manipulated by the alcoholic or addict. For the first time in my life I am making choices that place my happiness and health as the first priorities in every situation. The miracle happening in the Al-Anon Program is me becoming my true self as my Higher Power is teaching me to be.
I am thankful that Al-Anon has taught me to be grateful. Not only for the good things in my life, big and small, but also the not-so-good things that have challenged me. I am thankful that I have grown emotionally and spiritually because of the rooms and the members within. Happy Thanksgiving, Canada!
Grateful for a wonderful relationship with my higher power
For all the wonderful people on different levels of recovery, for the judgement free meeting rooms and the amazing literature that allow me to grow at a (gentle) pace right for me.
So many things to be Thankful for… Blessed to be alive!
That I am never alone. That I have a relationship with my Higher Power, who always loves me. That my friends in Al-Anon love me back to my soul.
