The annual Day of Sharing was created by the General Service Office (GSO) of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) to bring together various Twelve-Step organizations, including Al‑Anon, in a spirit of unity and fellowship. The organizational leadership from each group is invited. Al‑Anon’s participation in this event reflects the spiritual principles found in Tradition Six, which emphasize maintaining the focus on our primary spiritual aim of helping families and friends of alcoholics and encouraging cooperation with A.A.

During the Day of Sharing, Al‑Anon’s Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and its Executive Director have the opportunity to exchange experiences, challenges, and successes with other leaders of Twelve-Step programs. This annual interaction fosters a sense of unity and understanding between the leaders of these programs as we celebrate serving our members and groups.

By participating in A.A.’s Day of Sharing, Al‑Anon Family Groups collaborates with the Twelve-Step recovery community. We are all able to learn from one another and encourage each other on our respective journeys of supporting and expanding our fellowships.

Al‑Anon looks forward to participating in the next annual Day of Sharing, coming up this fall.
