I have a mom who is an alcoholic and makes it impossible to have a relationship with her. She is never accountable for her outrageous behavior when she drinks. She calls me, tells me she wishes she never had me. She calls my boyfriend, says vulgar horrible things and harasses him on phone while he is at work on a job site. She thinks nothing of this and turns around and tells me what a terrible daughter I am that I don’t care about her when that is the farthest from the truth. I don’t know how to be a wife to my husband, I need to change, .
A couple hours ago I made a phone call looking for help for my adult daughter and her drinking. I have been focused on getting her to stop drinking, to no avail. It was suggested that I attend Al-Anon and get help and support for myself, and that that might encourage my daughter to consider it.
