The first Alateen group is registered with Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc.
“Led by the Alateen group in Pasadena, the Alateen members adopted Al-Anon’s Twelve Steps unchanged. … The Alateens slightly adapted the Traditions to make them more relevant to their needs.” … The August 1957 issue of the A.A. Grapevine published an article that said “Alateen’s “beginning is almost as inspiring as A.A.’s. Its rise is almost as phenomenal and its motives and success just as vital to useful, happy living.”
